SIDE - ALANYA
Side was a important port town in antiquity. The village offers picturesque, narrow streets and lovely gardens while the long, white beaches invite swimming. Imposing monuments of antiquity, such as the Roman bath and the columns of the Apollo temple by the sea, complete the picture of a perfect combination of modern-day vacation pleasure and the treasures of history.
Alanya stretches out along the crystalline waters of Turkey’s southern coast. Pay a visit to the beautiful Alanya Castle, a 13th-century structure in Seljuk architectural style situated high up on a rocky crag overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
With a warm Mediterranean climate that boasts 300 days of sunshine year-round, Alanya is a hotspot for beach lovers. Soak up some rays on the golden sands of Damlatas Beach, where you can also enjoy a spot of snorkelling, or cool down in the nearby Damlatas Caves.
Manavgat Waterfall (Manavgat Şelalesi), which joins with the river with foams flowing meandering through the forests, the Temple of Apollo (Apollo Tapınağı) and the Ancient City of Side (Side Antik Kenti), right next to the sea, are home to a cultural asset that a day is not long enough to explore. Fascinating with its pine forests and waterfalls, Alanya is in the far east of the city with its historical castle extending into the Mediterranean.
